1st SOHO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL NYC, FEB. 18-21, 2010
December 31, 2010 is the final deadline for all entries to the 2010 Soho International Film Festival which takes place right in the heart of downtown Soho from Thursday, February 18 through Sunday, February 21. This new festival, which celebrates the cutting-edge of digital technology while honoring traditional forms of storytelling, encourages new and seasoned filmmakers from here in New York City and around the world to create and send in their fresh and innovative cinematic pieces. Says founder Jorge Ballos, “By enticing filmmakers, journalists and cineastes from America and across the globe, we expect to draw audiences to this side of the city that’s known for its artistic community and cultural sophistication. It is our way of helping boost the profile, the sense of pride, and the economy of the local community and the city itself.” Leading figures of the film industry as well as local film enthusiasts are expected to attend the four-day February event. At least twelve new features will be screened, and filmmaking panels and workshops will be conducted to be followed by nightly afterparties. Soho International Film Festival is open to receiving submissions for full-length features, shorts, works-in-progress and student films.

I greatly enjoyed EVERY sec of this show, The cast was incredible each giving great presence and 110% Antonio played the Jester/narrator; his performance led me into an enchanted fantasy, and then given the gift of his fluid performance, His presence was magically haunting and playful all into one. I found the script to very beautiful down to its spiritual/psychological undertones, very well written!!! Anyone who is a deep thinker, anyone who loves to laugh, or appreciate good theater should absolutely see this. As a Dancer, I found the dance number by Frances Lozada towards the end to be ethereal and passionate; she was Gorgeous and demanding I truly appreciated it, bravo. The cast was just soooo well casted; the Star, Franky G is consistently strong and natural throughout his performance…. Luis was so endearing as Big Jay…and comic relief!!! I laughed ALOT and cried but left the theater feeling that I had to see it again!!! I already have plans to take my dear friends next weekend to enjoy the show. Off-Off Broadway "Insiders" in NYC features the hottest
Filipino actors and Producers
"Insiders" has a high profile Actor/Producer/Writer in the person of Frances Lozada and has a Hollywood main star namely Franky G (Saw 2, Italian Job, Jonny Zero) but has become significant in the Filipino American Community because of the involvement of several Filipinos in the cast, production (LFP International Production Inc and Mylz Tolentino and Malu Marcelo of Serendipity Hype) and costume design (July Ann Mendoza).
Frances Lozada when asked why she casted and chose to work with these actors and producers:
Miguel Braganza II (Miss Saigon), - His spirit and voice brought life into the Priest character. He was working nearby the auditions that day. He stopped by just to say hello, read for the part for the hell of it. The rest is history.
Anthea Neri (GMA Pinoy Pop Superstar US Champion, GMA Pinoy Dance Showdown Host), - She came in to read for the part as the hooker. Her voice was clear and precise. Then she yanked out a condom from her bra, while she was auditioning.Great timing and great for the hooker character! Needless to say, she got the part.
Antonio Alvaira (Multo, Amulet), - I hired Antonio because he had worked with us on a previous project and was a dedicated worker and he has become an actor is always growing. As the narrator, he is evolving into a mystical being right before our eyes.
Luis Pedron (American Adobo, 13 Going on 30)- Was to be a producer at first but then Frances saw a comedic quality in him that would bring the Comedian Character alive. And she was right. Luis gets so free that you get taken in, just like that. It's great.
Mylz Tolentino and Malu Marcelo of Serendipity Hype. - working with Mylz and Malu has been great. They are very determined and know what they want and where they are going and know how to get there. There is no doubt in my mind that they both will rise to the success they desire and deserve. This is our first production together and it is only the beginning.

The Soho International Film Festival was founded by Jorge Ballos, Noli Parumog and
Luis Pedron on July 1, 2009.
The festival encourages new and seasoned filmmakers to create innovative and thought provoking pieces and
will host screenings and events in the renowned SOHO district of New York City to bring together filmmakers, critics, and
cineastes from across the world. Leading figures of the film industry and film enthusiasts at large are expected at the 2010
launch in February. Filmmaking seminars will be conducted by film experts and nightly after parties will be held. The festival
is open to Features/Shorts/Music Videos of all Genres (Professional, Amateur, Work-in-Progress and Student Films)
